When will Apple release a foldable iPhone?
Foldable devices are slowly rising in popularity; Apple is jumping on that bandwagon and now unfolds foldable iPhones and iPads. Apparently, the company has been working on foldable technologies for years that could entirely shake up its product line up.
The Wall Street Journal has a report that Apple is developing two foldable devices. One is going to be a foldable iPhone that comes in compact size, will have a larger screen compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, targeting the premium range of smartphones, which could even replace the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. The other extreme is going to be an enormous device of 19 inches, through which they could possibly cannibalize the gap between a laptop and a tablet by replacing the desktop monitor.
Although the foldable iPhone is said to come first, the report regarding its entry into the markets is as early as 2026, though timelines might alter it to 2027. The bigger foldable, according to Bloomberg, is the “giant iPad” and what Apple is concentrating on right now. This foldable will, apparently, be unlike any of the other foldables present in the markets as Apple reportedly tries to create a foldable without any crease.
The foldable device market is already flooded by Samsung, Huawei, and Oppo with innovative products. In fact, it was the Samsung that flooded the markets with its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models dominating the same. This is a competition where the entry of Apple might once again redefine the standards in the foldable design. The company did the same by giving birth to the first smart devices and tablets.
