SanDisk, leader of data storage solutions, yesterday unveiled a major corporate branding effort, with a new logo that breaks with its traditional inter-capped look, applied since 1995, adopting a bold slab-serif typeface, the “open” “D,” and a pixel-inspired “S” referring to data and digital innovation for the company.
This rebranding exercise comes at a time when Sandisk is preparing to undertake a planned spin-off from its parent company, Western Digital. Western Digital had bought SanDisk in 2016. The plan is for this year to first materialize in 2025.
The new logo was very much welcomed, especially in contrast to other companies’ attempts at rebranding themselves. The effort of Sandisk seems to be welcomed both by industry experts as well as consumers.
